What is a stock?
A stock is a small slice of ownership in a company. When the company grows, the value of your slice can grow too.
NSE and BSE
These are the two main stock exchanges in India, where shares are bought and sold. The Nifty 50 belongs to NSE and the Sensex to BSE.
Demat and trading account
A demat account holds your shares electronically. A trading account is what you use to place buy and sell orders.
How buying and selling works
You place an order through your broker. When a buyer and a seller agree on a price on the exchange, the trade happens.
Market timings
The regular session runs from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM IST on weekdays.
Intraday vs delivery
Intraday means you buy and sell on the same day. Delivery means you keep the shares beyond the day.

How often does the scanner run?
It scans all 3,363 NSE stocks every 60 seconds.
Can the app change my portfolio or place trades?
No. Upstox sync uses OAuth in read-only mode, so BreakoutNavigator can only read your holdings, open positions and margin. Paper trading uses a ₹10,00,000 demo wallet and places no real orders.
Is BreakoutNavigator SEBI registered?
No. BreakoutNavigator is not SEBI registered. Everything it shows is for educational and informational purposes and is not investment advice.
